As a member of this select group of schools, Arnold Memorial commits to:

  • Having a 90 minute reading block focusing on the 5 components of reading as determined by the National Reading Panel. Thirty minutes of this block is spent in small, differentiated, flexible groups on each child's reading level.

  • Using only scientifically based reading strategies which have been proven to increase student achievement.

  • Utilizing appropriate assessments to determine student placements and instructional strategies.
