The Green Team  consists of  3 veteran teachers:

LARTS

A comprehensive unit on poetry has been completed and we are now studying  PROPAGANDA.  Persuasive techniques such as bandwagon, loaded words, celebrity appeal …will be utilized in  students  creating and presenting their own product. Research skills, more grammar and writing skills will be covered and a review of our SPI’s for the year will be taking place.

Yes, it is alot, but TCAP is coming up in April! Even if your child says they do not have homework……….please go back  over their work with them. Check if they are filling out their agendas and for daily assignments.  Your support is crucial to your child’s success. Thank you!

Social Studies:  This grading period we will be  learning about the Middle Ages and the Renaissance (chapters 15 and 17).  We will also take a brief look at the Inca, Maya, and Aztec civilizations in Central and South America (chapter 16).     Please check “parent connect” to see if your child is missing work.  You can register for Parent Connect through here.

MATH

Currently in Math class we are studying bar graphs, line graphs, frequency charts, and tables. We will also be studying in the next two weeks misleading graphs, bias, algebra tiles, inequalities, and probability. We have math homework 4 days a week, Monday through Thursday. Please make sure your child completes it. We are pushing hard for TCAP! We will be ready!
