Communications Technology
Communications Technology is a nine-week related arts class for students in grades 6-8 which allows students to explore a variety of skills and techniques used for developing communication through interactive media. Students learn to find and evaluate information using the Internet, prepare multimedia presentations, perform various desktop publishing activities, refine their word processing skills, design web pages, make and edit videos, and explore careers.A variety of multimedia tools is available for use, including digital cameras, camcorders, scanners, CD and DVD burners, and various computer programs. The class is taught using direct instruction as well as student projects. Research skills are introduced as students prepare their projects.
