7th and 8th grade health is a state guideline based curriculum that addresses the physical mental, emotional, and social dimensions of health. The curriculum seeks to develop health knowledge, attitudes, and skills and is tailored to each grade level. It is designed to motivate and assist students to maintain and improve their health, prevent disease, and reduce health related risk behaviors.7th and 8th grade students will take one nine weeks of Health Education per year.
The 7th grade units studied are Food and Nutrition, Growth and Development, Tobacco, Communicable Diseases and Environmental Health.
The 8th grade units studied are Medicines and Drugs, Alcohol, Body Systems, and Communicable Diseases.
