Project Title Description K-12 teachers and students can create Web pages and interact
with other classrooms from around the world in various discussion
forums and chat rooms. Classes can create Web pages about any subject
having to do with culture, nature, or technology. The goal is for
schools to share information about where they live and what's important
to them. Subject Areas: Social Studies, Language Arts, Technology Grades 4-12 students can collaborate with scientists as
they track, via satellite, the Tundra Swan migration from Alaska
to California. Grades 4-6 learn the basics of probability and statistics
by trying to predict the swans' next location. Grades 10-12 prepare
corridor enhancement proposals to be reviewed by the Division of
Wildlife Resources. Subject Areas: Multidisciplinary Grades 4-8 students will analyze maps, photographs, and
other historical materials and research their origins. Student
writing and artwork based on this project can be posted at the project's
Web site. Subject Areas: Social Studies, Language Arts Grades K-12 students can travel around the world and back
again from the classroom. This online expedition offers several
projects in a variety of curricula. Students can explore the rainforest,
delve deep into the oceans, learn about US history and math, visit
Costa Rica, see the wetlands, or travel around the world on a boat.
Each project comes with a teacher's guide, and all activities correlate
to national curriculum standards. There is a cost associated
with this project, but it is well worth the money and would
be a great learning adventure for your students. A 10-day free
trail is available. Subject Areas: Multidisciplinary Grades 2-12 students from across the hemisphere will participate
in the exploration of global migration patterns. There are materials
for the fall months that highlight the cyclical nature of the seasons,
as well as the northward migration taking place during the spring
months. Classrooms are paired with scientists who share their expertise
during the spring months, while satellites track migrations,
providing live coverage of individual animals' journeys.
Participation is FREE! Subject Areas: Multidisciplinary This site offers a variety of online projects for class
participation. You MUST at least take a look at the projects ongoing.

and longitude integer degree intersections in the world and to
take pictures at each location. Pictures and stories from each
location will be posted on the Web site. Visit and see how you
and your students can participate. The basic goal of this project is to teach K-12 students
basic geography and research skills by finding out about neighborhoods
(and more specifically the houses) where they live. Participating
schools will submit Web sites with information about the neighborhood
where their school is located. In addition, students will provide
stories about their own homes using photos, videos, and other tools
to supplement their work. Maps and diagrams should also be
provided. Open enrollment; deadline March 1, 2004. Every house
has a story to tell! Email: Rosemary_Shaw@scps.k12.fl.us Don't know what an online project is or how to use one?
