Cleveland City Schools Receives Rotary Grant

Cleveland City Schools was recently awarded the Read With A Raider grant funded by the Noonday Rotary Club. Every first grade student in Cleveland City Schools received a book to take home for Fall Break. These same students will receive additional books the week before each extended break (Thanksgiving, Winter, Spring, and Summer). With a focus on Literacy and Family Engagement, the students are encouraged to read the book during the break independently and with family members. Literacy activities for each book that are designed to improve reading comprehension are provided to the families. Members of the Rotary Club will visit every first grade classroom the week before each break and read a portion of the book to the students before distributing books.
