Welcome back, Thunderbirds! We are thrilled to extend a heartfelt welcome to each and every one of you for the 2023-2024 school year. There are some essential details we'd like to share to ensure a successful and exciting year ahead!

Enrollment & Registration
If you haven't enrolled your child yet, please take a moment to do so as soon as possible. It's a simple process for both RETURNING and NEW students, and you can easily enroll on our enrollment page here. For returning students, please be aware that failure to enroll may result in withdrawal from school and the loss of their place in a class, and we definitely want to avoid that!

Families Outside the CCCES Zone
For families who have moved out of the Candy's Creek Cherokee Elementary School zone, we understand that you may still wish to attend our school. We have provided an application link for you to apply for enrollment here. Please note that at this time, we may not have available space for cross-zone students. However, we will closely monitor enrollment and remain in contact with applicants' families regarding their status.

School Calendar

New School Hours
Starting in the 2023-2024 academic year, Cleveland City Schools will be implementing new school hours. Middle and high school students will attend classes from 7:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., while elementary school students will have classes from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. The school doors will open promptly at 7:45 a.m., ensuring a smooth and timely start to the day.

Reconnection Days
Cleveland City Schools will have two reconnection days for our students during the first week of school. On Monday, August 7, students with last names beginning A-K will attend a full day of school. On Tuesday, August 8, students with last names beginning L-Z will also attend a full day. Then, on Wednesday, August 9th, we expect all students to be present for their classes.

Meet the Teacher Event
Save the date for our Meet the Teacher event on August 3 at Candy's Creek Cherokee Elementary School. Additionally, our Kindergarten Parent Meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, August 1 at 6:00 PM.

School Supply Lists
To prepare your child for the exciting first day of school, specific school supply lists are available on our website. These lists will ensure your child is well-prepared and ready to embrace the challenges that await them in the classroom.

Transportation Details
For those who have registered their child for transportation services, you will receive a notification about their bus number, stop, and pick-up time approximately one week before classes commence, provided they are eligible for bus transportation. Should you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact our transportation department at 423-472-9576.

PowerSchool
We highly encourage all our families to make use of PowerSchool, a powerful tool that allows you to access essential information about your child's schedules, grades, and attendance.

Additional Information
We are excited to announce that all students will receive breakfast and lunch free of charge.

Lastly, we kindly remind parents that students arriving after 8:30 AM will be considered tardy and must be checked in by our office staff.
