Emily Evans

Emily Elizabeth Evans

We are proud to honor Ms. Emily Evans, member of the Class of 2000, as our next Hall of Fame inductee. Ms. Evans’s senior English class projects of musical spoofs and her research paper for Mrs. Lemons’s class on the lyrics of Don McClean’s “American Pie” were precursors to a career in the music industry. She is currently the Vice President of Strategic Initiatives with CMA, the Country Music Association.

Ms. Evans was a very involved student in her time at Cleveland High School. She played on the varsity basketball and softball teams, finding great joy in having teammates with whom she was devoted to a single purpose. She also feels lucky to have had a close group of friends who had fun simply by being together, whether it was road-tripping to an away football game or spending the days in the water of Parksville Lake.

A graduate of Carson-Newman University with a bachelor’s degree in Business Management and a recent MBA graduate of Middle Tennessee State University in 2020, Mrs. Evans is enjoying an illustrious career. Her first job was with a concert and festival booking firm, then she accepted a job with the management team of, at the time, a relatively new artist named Taylor Swift. After working on three album launches and headlining tours for Swift in Evans’s five years with her, she has continued her career in branding and consulting in the music industry. Mrs. Evans has won several Billboard Magazine awards and serves in various ways through non-profit organizations in her Nashville community.

From her graduation from CHS as a Raider Scholar with High Distinction, to her position in the social studies classroom at CHS, to her current position as Assistant Principal of Intervention, Dr. Reid is blue-blooded.

Dr. Reid cherishes the memories of her time at CHS, memories including plays and musicals and starting the football rivalry with Bradley again after so many years off. However, her greatest memory is her senior year and the Bradley basketball game, which Cleveland won in a double overtime at the last second during the post season, at home, in the Dome.

Dr. Reid graduated from Lee University with her Bachelors and Masters degrees, then earned a doctorate in Educational Leadership in 2020.
