Council Morning Meetings

On Friday, September 8th, 5th grade council leaders at Candy's Creek Cherokee visited lower grade classrooms to teach their morning meeting. Student leaders covered how to greet one another by name during introductions.  They also taught the expectations for morning meetings: students taking turns talking, listening carefully when others are speaking, and using kind words. They also led a group discussion on what the "S" in our school's SOAR acronym stands for (safety). Classes discussed together how to be safe in their rooms, in the hallways, during recess, and in the cafĂ© during breakfast and lunch time. Our 5th grade leaders did a wonderful job presenting, and our classroom circles did a wonderful job participating in a worthwhile discussion!
