For over 20 years, Bradley Lights has created an intricate and engaging holiday lights display. Recently, they visited our school to present on the intersection of electricity, design, and technology in their work. During the presentation, they demonstrated how they program lights to synchronize with music, showcasing the software they use to design and control the display. The session also incorporated elements of the design thinking process. The presenter guided us through the creation of a "model light display" in real time, allowing students to observe the iterative design process in action. Additionally, they discussed the use of a 3D printer to design and fabricate various display components. The presentation included an explanation of electrical principles, such as different voltage levels, and their importance in ensuring the functionality and safety of the displays. This experience provided a hands-on and multidisciplinary perspective on the application of STEM principles in creative and real-world contexts.

Our 3rd graders at Blythe-Bower wowed us with Balloons Over Blythe-Bower parade based on the famous Macy's Parade! They designed balloons using construction paper, foil, and more, then marched through the halls for cheering classes. A showcase of imagination and teamwork!
