Cleveland City Schools is excited to announce the appointment of Molly Jackson as the new Assistant Principal of Yates Primary School.
For more than 16 years, Jackson has poured her heart into the Yates community. From beginning her career as a student teacher and intern to serving as a classroom teacher and, most recently, as Instructional Facilitator, she has built lasting relationships with students, families, and colleagues while helping shape a school culture centered on learning, kindness, and belonging.
As Instructional Facilitator, Jackson works alongside teachers to strengthen classroom instruction, support professional learning, and help every student reach their full potential. Before stepping into that role, she spent more than a decade teaching Kindergarten, first grade, and second grade, where she was known for creating classrooms in which students felt encouraged, supported, and inspired to grow.
Throughout her career, Jackson has embraced opportunities to lead and serve beyond the classroom. She has been a member of the school’s Leadership Team and Administration Team, served as the Speech and Language LEA, Yearbook Advisor, PTO President, and participated on the district’s Math Textbook Selection Committee. In 2018, she was honored as Yates Primary Teacher of the Year, and this past year she completed the Bradley County Public Education Foundation’s LEAD Fellows Program as a member of Cohort 4 while continuing her journey toward educational leadership.
“Molly has dedicated her career to serving the students and families of Yates,” said Dr. Jeff Elliott, Director of Schools. “She is a trusted leader who leads with compassion, integrity, and a genuine commitment to helping others succeed. She understands what makes Yates special, and we are excited to see her continue making a positive impact in this new role.”
Yates Primary Principal Nat Akiona said Jackson's commitment to the school community and her relationships with others have made her a natural leader.
"Mrs. Jackson provides so much to the Yates community and will be a valuable asset in her new role, bringing not only knowledge of the school but also the respect of the school," Akiona said. "I have heard nothing but high praise for her kindness, work ethic, and ability. I look forward to all she will accomplish in her new role."
Jackson said serving Yates has always been more than a job. It is home.
