Our department is dedicated to keeping our staff, families, and community informed about the latest news and events within our district. We believe that effective communication is key to building a strong relationship between our schools, families, and community.

Website

Our websites serve as the primary sources for district and school information and resources.

Media Guidelines

Cleveland City Schools welcomes members of the media and works to provide the most accurate and timely information available. Media requests should be sent to pr@clevelandschools.org.

School Interviews

Please contact the Communications Coordinator if you would like to interview Cleveland City Schools students, staff, and administrators. We are happy to put you in touch with the correct person and/or resource for your story. Cleveland City Schools employees have been instructed to forward all media requests to our office for approval.

Photographing Students and Staff

Some of our students choose not to be photographed. The Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) allows students and families to opt out of the release of certain information about students, including photographs and videos. A building administrator must verify that these students have the proper release information on file before we can allow anyone to take photos and/or videos.

Social Media

Cleveland City Schools uses Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and YouTube to keep staff, families, and community members engaged and informed. These accounts are meant to serve as an additional source of information to the community.

We would like to establish rules for engagement with our social media channels. Cleveland City Schools does not want to limit the comments of its community members, however, specific comments will not be tolerated on our social media channels. If a person fails to adhere to the guidelines below, they risk having their comments removed or their account banned from future comments.

Please do not post comments that are:

  • Profane or Vulgar

  • Personal attacks or accusations

  • Offensive to or target specific ethnic or racial groups

  • Incite violence

  • Encourage others to break the law

  • Promote services or products

  • Identify students and/or staff in a defamatory, abusive, or derogatory way
