The Human Resources Department welcomes motivated individuals with professional qualifications and interpersonal skills to join Cleveland City Schools. The department is committed to ensuring Cleveland City Schools hires, develops, and retains a highly skilled and motivated workforce required for effective teaching and student learning in our schools.

In April, the Cleveland City Board of Education approved the 2023-2024 budget which included pay raises for all full-time employees and an increase in the starting teacher's salary to a minimum of $50,000 per year. This action, taken four years ahead of Governor Bill Lee's proposal, demonstrates our unwavering support for our educators and their invaluable contributions to our students' lives.

To be eligible to substitute for Cleveland City Schools, applicants must have at least an Associate's degree or 48 college credit hours, or pass a basic skills test if holding a high school diploma.
