Summer Programs

Cleveland City Schools offers state-of-the-art summer curriculum and learning for students at many grade levels, not only interventions. It's a great opportunity to make sure students are ready for success during the school year.

Rising 1st through 3rd graders
Students who will enter grades 1-3 in the 2023-24 school year will have the opportunity to participate in our summer program, which will reinforce foundational reading and math skills through engaging and enjoyable lessons. Additionally, we have scheduled time for STEM challenges, recess, and more exciting activities! The program will run from Monday to Thursday, from June 5 to June 29, with classes scheduled from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at Candy's Creek Cherokee Elementary School.

Rising 4th through 8th graders
Students who enter grades 4-8 in the 2023-2024 school year will have the opportunity to participate in the free, summer academic program. We will have fun and engaging lessons designed around our 'Survivor' theme with time set aside for STEM challenges, Team-Building Games, Recess, and much more! The program will run from Monday to Thursday, from June 5 to June 29, with classes scheduled from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30p.m. at Cleveland Middle School.

Rising 9th graders
Students who enter grades 9 in the following school year may have the opportunity to participate in the Raider Excel program. Raider Excel offers students the opportunity to earn up to 4 high school credits through their work in this academic booster program - Foundations of Algebra 1, Foundations of English 1, Fine Arts, and Lifetime Fitness. Students must have the recommendation of the 8th grade Assistant Principal and/or School Counselor to participate. The program will run from Monday to Thursday, from May 30 to June 29, with classes scheduled from 7:30 a.m. to 2:30p.m. at Cleveland High School.

Rising 10th-12th graders
Current Cleveland High School students who are in need of credit recovery will have the opportunity to earn credits during this summer school program. The program will run from Monday to Thursday, from May 30 to June 29, with classes scheduled from 7:30 a.m. to 2:30p.m. at Cleveland High School.

Cleveland City Schools offers these programs at no cost to families. Breakfast, lunch, and transportation are provided to these students as well. After the enrollment window closes the week of April 24th, students in need of academic interventions will be the priority.
