Student Information

As summer draws to a close, we are eagerly preparing to welcome our students back for another year of learning, growth, and success. Whether your child is returning or starting their journey with us, we are thrilled to have them as part of the Cleveland City Schools community.

In preparation for the new academic year, we want to share some important updates and information to ensure a smooth transition back to school:

Enrollment & Registration
If you haven't already done so, we kindly request that you enroll your child as soon as possible. This applies to both RETURNING and NEW students. Enrolling is a simple process and can be completed on our enrollment page here. For returning students, failing to enroll may result in withdrawal from school and the unfortunate loss of their place in a class. We genuinely want to avoid any disruptions to your child's education, so please take a moment to complete the enrollment process if you haven't already.

School Hours

  • Middle and High School: 7:30 AM - 2:30 PM

    • Doors will open at 7:00 AM

  • Elementary School: 8:30 AM - 3:30 PM

    • Doors will open at 7:45 AM

Reconnection Days
To facilitate a seamless transition back to school, we have planned two reconnection days for our students.

  • Monday, August 5th: Students with last names beginning with A-K will attend a full day of school.

  • Tuesday, August 6th: Students with last names beginning with L-Z will attend a full day of school.

On Wednesday, August 7th, we expect all students to be present for their classes. These days will help our students reconnect with their peers and teachers before diving into the academic year.

Specific School Information
Families can access information including school supply lists and upcoming events for their students, by navigating to the ‘Back to School’ page on each school’s dedicated webpage. Families can select their student’s school from the district’s website at www.clevelandschools.org

Transportation
We understand transportation prompts questions regarding bus routes and schedules for the start of a new school year. While our transportation team has been working to ensure smooth transportation services, we kindly request your patience and understanding during the first few weeks of school. For those who have registered their child for transportation services, you will receive a notification containing their bus number, stop, and pick-up time approximately one week before classes start, provided they are eligible for bus transportation. If you have any questions or concerns regarding transportation, please do not hesitate to contact our transportation department at 423-472-9576.

PowerSchool
We strongly encourage all families to utilize PowerSchool, a powerful tool that grants you access to essential information about your child's schedules, grades, and attendance. Stay informed and involved in your child's education by taking advantage of this valuable resource.

We invite you to visit our improved website at
www.clevelandschools.org for more information to prepare your student for the upcoming school year. Together, let's make the 2024-2025 school year a remarkable and successful one!
