Best For All District

Cleveland City Schools Selected as “Best For All” District

Cleveland City Schools is extremely excited to announce it has been chosen as a “Best For All” school district by the Tennessee Department of Education. The Tennessee Department of Education announced Cleveland City Schools as one of 68 districts to receive the “Best For All” statewide recognition today. The program awards benefits to school districts that designated historic amounts of federal relief funding directly toward student achievement to improve academic outcomes. Cleveland City Schools will also receive an additional $250,000 in funding as a result of their historic investment in students and in recognition for being named a “Best For All” district.

Tennessee Department of Education Commissioner Penny Schwinn shared, “Best For All Districts are meeting this critical moment in time head on, building upon statewide momentum to focus their efforts on students-first work and outcomes. I couldn’t be more proud to celebrate their systems, communities, and teams who are so well-deserving of this recognition as we accelerate achievement each day moving forward!”

The “Best For All” award recognizes districts that are investing in mission-critical initiatives that are most likely to benefit students. To qualify for the recognition program, a district must invest its ESSER award on proven, research-based strategies to raise student academic achievement and must be participating in the TN ALL Corps tutoring grant program to provide students with high dosage, low ratio tutoring opportunities. Cleveland City Schools is specifically being highlighted for its investment in summer learning camps, science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) labs, small group tutoring, and 1 to 1 technology. Dr. Russell Dyer shared these thoughts about the statewide recognition, “We are thrilled to be recognized as a “Best For All” district. It is great to see our Cleveland City Schools’ team receive the attention they deserve for their total investment in students. We thank the Tennessee Department of Education for this honor and plan to enjoy celebrating the work that is happening for students each day across our district.”

Cleveland City Schools will continue to share “Best For All” celebrations across the district through their social media outlets over the coming days.
