This week Mayfield Elementary School has joined forces with TDOT for a "Paint the Plow" event. Mayfield is only the second school in Tennessee to have this opportunity. The collaboration has brought art and education together to teach the students about winter weather events, the different jobs needed, and the equipment that it takes to keep us safe during the winter months. The students with help from their art teacher, Mary Ann Poplin, then diligently put their artistic abilities to work creating a masterpiece on a TDOT snow plow. Students of all grades K-5th were able to put their touch of art on it. Both TDOT and Mayfield have enjoyed partnering together to teach the students how important winter safety is and getting a snow plow all decked out to represent in the winter weather!
