Cleveland High School's Del Halfacre Receives Inaugural Cleveland Blue Star Award

Cleveland City Schools is proud to announce that Cleveland High School's Digital Media Teacher, Del Halfacre, has been chosen as the inaugural recipient of the prestigious Cleveland Blue Star Award. On Tuesday, September 5th, Dr. Dyer and Principal Bob Pritchard had the honor of presenting this award to Mr. Halfacre.

The Cleveland Blue Star Award is a testament to the district's commitment to recognizing individuals who consistently display exceptional dedication to their work, their colleagues, and, most importantly, their students. Mr. Halfacre's outstanding contributions to the school community made him the perfect choice for this inaugural recognition.

Renny Whittenbarger, Supervisor of Career and Technical Education (CTE) expressed his admiration for Mr. Halfacre, stating, "Del consistently exemplifies professionalism and dedication. He willingly volunteers for tasks that go above and beyond his teaching duties, including teaching summer school, live-streaming Chattanooga Football events, creating videos for CHS and CTE, and mentoring both students and teachers. Del's extra hours have propelled CHS Digital back to the forefront across the state and region. His unwavering positive attitude and welcoming spirit extend not only to fellow educators but also to the broader community. His teaching style is always centered on students, and his compassion towards them is evident in everything he does."
