Cleveland City Schools Achieves TVAAS Level 5 Composite
Dr. Russell Dyer, Director of Cleveland City Schools, is pleased to announce that Cleveland City Schools has been notified that the district is a Level 5 TVAAS School System for the 2020-2021 school year. Level 5 is the highest score possible on the TVAAS scale.
The Tennessee Department of Education website explains, “The Tennessee Value-Added Assessment System (TVAAS) measures student growth year over year, regardless of whether the student is proficient on the state assessment. In calculating a TVAAS score, a student’s performance is compared relative to the performance of his or her peers who have performed similarly on past assessments.”
Dyer is also excited to share that Cleveland Middle School and George R. Stuart Elementary have both received TVAAS Level 5 Overall School Composite scores for the 2020-2021 school year.
Dr. Dyer shared this about the TVAAS scores, “I am so proud of the educators that made this district Level 5 TVAAS score possible. This is once again evidence of the incredible work that took place this past school year across Cleveland City Schools. Achieving a Level 5 TVAAS score in the midst of such a difficult year is truly an amazing accomplishment for our staff, and I am so appreciative of all their hard work on behalf of our students. A special congratulations also goes out to Cleveland Middle School and George R. Stuart Elementary for their Level 5 TVAAS School Composite scores.”.
